Lasik With Intralase

Lasik procedures are much safer today because no blades are required. Originally an osculating blade had to be used to help create a corneal flap. Intralase has helped to eliminate the need for a blade. Lasik with Intralase is much safer and will have a better chance of success than with older forms of surgery. It also helps to reduce the chances of any scarring on the cornea. It is a great tool, but it does cost money and can have some side effects, but those effects are minimal.

The process of Intralase is simple. The procedure starts as a surgeon will use a computer to move a laser over the eye. The laser will make three incisions into the middle layer in the cornea. The flap that is created will move into an individual depth and location that will be best for the individual patient’s eyes. The doctor will then fold the flap back so the cornea will be reshaped. Because the range of eyes that can be handled with this method of treatment is greater people who may not have been able to get Lasik surgery in the past will be able to get Lasik with Intralase.

Lasik with Intralase is also accurate. It helps to encourage people who may have had fears of Lasik surgery to go into the operating room to have the surgery. It has indeed helped to get people to see how well Lasik surgery can get them to see properly.

Lasik with Intralase has greatly helped to reduce the complications that can occur during Lasik surgery. However, the can have an extreme sensitivity to light after the surgery takes place. This is known as photophobia. Fortunately, this only occurs in about one percent of people who use Lasik with Intralase. This can be treated with medicated drops for a period of time.

Also, Lasik with Intralase does cost more than other forms of Lasik surgery. It can cost about three hundred additional dollars for the procedure to be performed with Intralase. Also, the cost of Lasik with Intralase, like with other forms of Lasik surgery, will not be covered by most insurance plans because it is an elective form of surgery. However, the additional cost of the Lasik with Intralase will definitely be worth it because it is more accurate and safer.

It is important to know that while Lasik with Intralase is effective and safe it is not for everyone. It is best to talk with a doctor for information on whether or not the surgery is right. In some cases an individual may be able to do other things in order to have better eyesight.

Overall, Lasik with Intralase is an especially great method of treatment for improving one’s eyesight. Not only is Lasik with Intralase safe and accurate but it also has very little side effects. However, it will cost more money. Regardless, Lasik with Intralase is a great option that is better than other options for laser eye surgery.
